NO PARTISAN-RUN ELECTIONS! PUBLIC OVERSIGHT!
The skewed notion of highly partisan officials running their own elections while actively campaigning should not be allowed, period. The theory of “bi-partisan” election officials, two democrats and two republicans, equally canceling out each other’s agenda and thus issuing a fair ruling is inherently flawed. Can’t anyone register as whatever party they want?
Until the elections boards offer their own video surveillance, public oversight is required by the lack of transparency.
PAPER BALLOTS
It is the only way to have a vote exist in a physical universe. They’re cheaper than unreliable touchscreens. Why should this be hard?
NO PRIVATIZED ELECTIONS BY CORPORATIONS
Under trade secrets, state election officials cannot examine the inside of their own voting machines because it’s the company’s right to privacy. Tell that to any other industry, and you would be laughed at.
PUBLIC FINANCING FOR CAMPAIGNS
Once politicians stop listening to donors, they start listening to voters.
